Xerces Fobe2
On another Forum this subject gas come up a number of times and basically because Goggle Maps has no reason to be concerned with moving objects so you can get overlaying satellite photos creating interest effects with trains in unlikely positions usually on the same track in close proximity The photo below is just by North Pole Depot and it appears that a Class 165 Turbo and Class 180 are very close to each other due to this effect I have found some others however have other forum members found shots showing this effect too? RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted January 16, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2015 There's a four-car Voyager chasing an isolated power car just by Tile Hill station
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted January 16, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2015 On the other hand as they're on No.1 Carriage Line, which is Permissive, they might both be there quite legitimately if they're heading in the Down direction. Jenny Emily
I think there used to be half a class 37 somewhere near Tyne yard when Google maps first gained a high enough resolution to see the detail of such places. The maps get updated every few years; still waiting for my house extension to appear.

RMweb Premium corneliuslundie Posted January 18, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 18, 2015 And on street view my son found a road in the USA where you could follow train on a parallel railway line for quite a long distance.

Butler Henderson
If you have the latest version of Internet Explorer, and presumably the same goes for other web browsers, a timeline comes active so you can change between different dates of the same in Streetview if they have been back. A bit erractic as some roads they have still not visited while the near my workplace was visited three times last year!
RMweb Premium SM42 Posted January 21, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 21, 2015 In the older version the pictures from around Saltley could be dated quite accurately due the presence of a derailed freightliner train at the exit to Lawley Street terminal. I think there was a two in section around the Weedon area at one time too. I also quite like the way the seasons change in an instant (Summer to winter in one click) and the now you see it, now you don't effect. Watery Lane signalbox (Tipton) being a good example.
