Redford73
My next layout is due to feature a reduced version of Crewe mid 1970s. I'm having trouble locating pics of the outside of the station. I've managed to view it (sort of) from Google street view but that is current. Does anyone know where I can find any photos of the station building from road level (specifically Nantwich Rd) circa 1970s? Any help mucho appreciated! woodenhead
If you are on Facebook there is a group who post images of Crewe up to the 90s, it might be worth checking that out or asking your question there as well as I am sure there will be someone out there with lots of pictures. RMweb Premium Mr Nik Posted January 27, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 27, 2015 Hi there, Sorry it’s taken a while to respond. There is a picture of the station frontage in the Terry Moors book ‘ Crewe & Cheshire Railways – Scenes from the 1980s’ The caption explains that the image was taken in Febraury 1983 before the remodelling of 1985 and apparently shows the 1960s style frontage. Hope this helps.
