NSE DAZ
Hi all Just a quick question regarding the Class 416 (2 EPB). Can any one advise me to when the high intensity head light was added to this unit? I have seen many painted in the NSE livery that don't seem to have them? Any advice would be great as I am planning to have a Bachmann 2 EPB without the headlight painted up into the NSE livery. Many thanks Darren NSE DAZ
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted January 25, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 25, 2015 ISTR proper headlights became a requirement BR-wide circa 1990. Before that no SR EMUs had any light at the front except the headcode AFAIK.

roythebus
Well after 1988 when I left BR. Oldddddddduddders is probably tight about the date, the only units with headlights then were the 508s and 455s.
kintbury jon
The majority of BR designed 2EPB's in NSE were the facelifted examples from the series 6401-6418. Internally they were open throughout and had fluorescent lighting. A modification of the interior of the trailer car will be required if you wish to go down that route. I did so with one of mine.
