Scratchbuilding a platform shelter / waiting room

This will explain the slow progress on my road vehicles (see my thread over in that group section), I've been working on a Platform shelter for the club layout. I've never built a building before, so did I build a kit - No. Bash a kit - No. Start from nothing but an idea and a sheet of card - Yes! :jester:

2mm card, smartmodels brick paper to match the other buildings, balsa sheet for the roof. The roof is 1.6mm balsa sheet covered with individual 2mm wide planks cut from 0.8mm balsa sheet. The roof trusses were individually cut from 1.6mm balsa sheet taking care with the direction of the grain. The battens are 2mm square balsa

Next items are to stain the roof before fitting it then putting the strips of tiles I've already cut and coloured the edges of on. Also going to create an interior for the waiting room section.

The pity is all anyone is going to see when it's on the layout is the top inch of the back wall and the rear elevation of the roof!

I have a scaled down NER tile map to go on the wall then some benches to make and the room will be complete. Need to put some stone arches in the front wall of the building before the roof goes on but have strips of tiles cut ready.
