The next step is to create a top to the platform and ramp. I used 1mm thick ply. This is easy to cut, flexible and bonds with PVA.

The dock with the platform and ramp front glued to the foam carcass. The pre-cut ply is behind.

Suitable weight are used whilst the PVA sets. The 7lb weight has been a useful tool over the years for all sorts of DIY and modelling jobs.

Structures like these are relatively easy and quick to make. You just need to be accurate in marking out and cutting materials, making sure that right angles are square. When gluing up, ensure that every thing is square and sitting on a flat surface. It takes just as long for the PVA to set, as it does to cut and trial fit the parts. The work piece is sitting on scrap paper, to ensure it does not become glued to the workbench top.
