RMweb Premium BR60103 Posted January 27, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 27, 2015 I have a set of etched plates for 63D and SC. I can't find 63D in my loco shed book, but it looks like it might be in northern Scotland. Can anyone tell me where it is? Also, what locos were allocated there, especially ones that might have a Self Cleaning smokebox. Thanks.

Then Oban was coded 63D from May 1955 to October 1959. http://www.brdatabase.info/locomotives.php?loconum=63d http://www.railwayana.net/guides/Loco_Train/shedplate%20rarity/rarity60-68.htm I don't think Oban had any engines with self-cleaning smokeboxes during the time it was coded 63D. (It did have some later). Fort Wiliam definitely did - the K1s you mention, plus several Black 5s at least. There also appear to have been some Ivatt 4MTs (doodlebugs, flying pigs, mucky ducks - take your pick) there in the summer of 1953. That surprised me. The Scottish members of that class were wanderers, but I didn't know any had made it to Fort William.
RMweb Premium BR60103 Posted January 28, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 28, 2015 Thanks. My Locoshed book is from the 60s and not only have the codes changed, a lot of the locos are missing.
