RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted January 31, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 31, 2015 For the first time I watched the Parliamentary Channel yesterday for more than an occasional few minutes which showed the full four hours plus. Unlike today with the many commentators that would surely be used, the late Richard Dimbleby showed endurance for solely commentating for the whole time, with the exception of a couple of eulogies from Sir Robert Menzies the Australian PM and Gen Dwight Eisenhower. It was slightly surreal at the end with the Waterloo scenes. Although precisely 50 years ago to the second, seeing 34051 seemed in 'real time'. Taken from BBC I Player Pathe News of the day.
