Hello all,

I was watching some telly the other night when an add. for a film studio tour came on, the bit that interested me was that they had 5972? Hogwarts Castle showing on the tour with what look like some Mk1s behind it. The question is did they get a real Hall done up and shipped out, or are these just studio mock-ups?

Speaking of 'Shipped out' there were some surprisingly accurate replicas made for the Universal Studios Orlando resort - see here:

That's the studio tour that I was thinking about Orlando resort.

So it's a replica that's over there. Not one of the non running Halls.

The website specifically says that it will be 5972 at the exhibit.

Not sure about them claiming to have original luggage and platform barrows from the film because a lot of that stuff is still on Goathland station (they hired the steam era barrows/trollies for each film from Goathland) and some of the luggage is in a private collection not a million miles from here....

The one in orlando is fibreglass!!

And as has been pointed out before the lady stood in front of it isn't emma watson!!

While the replica is very well made, by the looks of it, the lack of shed plate makes it look...weird...

So does the shape of the vac pipe and how they have put the smokebox darts, ten to two just too give it a smiley face.

I'm not sure of the current status, but

The loco shown is a replica, and I think is less than full size.

They seem to have added a train trip to their features, as the Harry Potter world is now in two parts. We haven't been back yet.

It is not a studio; it is an amusement or theme park.

The butterbeer is worth the trip.

The 'one' in the USA is actually at least 2, possibly three. Plus some BR Mk 1 look alikes. I have a photo taken in the back lot. I'll try and find it.
