Recycling

Hi all,

Not really sure where to put this, whether is should go here, Wheeltappers, or just advertise them on the Classifieds page...

I have a couple of Hornby class 153 body shells which have been stripped of parts, basically just the shell, no glazing or anything else attached.  They're not really of much use (but if anyone wants them feel free to drop me a PM!), and it got me wondering, what should I do with them?  Not in the sense of what could I make them into, as for that, it would require replacements for all the parts I took off (and if replacements were available, I wouldn't have bought cheap second hand units on eBay!), but can they be recycled in some way?  It seems wasteful to just throw them away, but I don't want them cluttering up my shelves for evermore, does anyone know any more about what exactly they're made of, and what can be done with it?

Thanks,

JDW

I'd be amazed if nobody wanted them,  either on here or ebay,  they would be ideal replacements for a repainting exercise has gone wrong.

The fact that you're offering them for free nearly had me pm'ing you before the saner side of my brain reminded me that I don't really model in 00 any more.

What liveries are they?

Unfortunately they're not in great condition though, cab steps on the fronts broken, for example - hence why I managed to pick them up cheap for parts.

Thanks for the replies, I hadn't really thought anyone might want them, but I guess you're right, someone might, even if only to practise on - I'll dig them out and take a few pics for the classified page at some point in the near future.  In answer to Hesperus, they're [scratched] Regional Railways, North Western blue/gold, and East Midlands Trains.
