An article from the 60s

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

At the risk of sounding as if I've lost it - which may, of course, be true - I've got a bee in my bonnet about an article that I read lots and lots of years ago.

Sometime in the middle to late 60's I used to read the old Model Railway Constructor (MRC)  ( a great mag!) and I often used also to buy Railway Modeller (RM).

In one, and I think was in MRC, there was an article about the building of a new layout. I've forgotten the name, but the heading photo was of a class 20 on a long viaduct-like structure at high level over other tracks. In desperation, can anyone remember such an article and tell me what it was, and which issue?

As I said above, this is a somewhat far-fetched request, and just hope that someone with a great memory (as well as a great collection of mags) might be able to remember.

Thanks,

Cliff

Thanks, all - I'll look into this further as you have kindly suggested.

If you can give me the date there is a good chance I have the magazine in question.

Ah, if only I could, Mick. My problem is having only a recollection. I think the article was a two parter, I saw part 1. Embarrassingly all I can remember of it is the photo of the class 20 on its viaduct (or, at last, a high level track) crossing a lower track on the diagonal. I thought the article was called 'Bonchester', but that's not it as this was Chris Pendleton's lovely layout, but I'm sure the article that I'm after was call somethingchester, perhaps 'Dron....)
