Lima class 31 chassis

Hi

 

After the disaster of finding my Hornby super detail 31 chassis rotting I want to try and rebuild it using a Lima class 31 chassis.

 

Does anyone have one going cheap?

 

Needs buffers etc.

 

Also any tips on the proposed project would be a great help.

Have you approached Hornby?

 

If this is the metal-fatigue problem, they may still be able to supply a replacement main chassis frame.

Hi and thanks, very sadly they can no longer do that, had I discovered the terrible situation a few years back it would all have been done by now.

You could try telling Hornby that you'd accept a Railroad 31 as part compensation, and use the chassis from that - it is the old Lima chassis with new motor bogie.
