Does anyone produce laser cut baseboards to the BritMod-00 standards

Given that constructing a 00 module is one of the 2015 Challenges, does anyone currently produce baseboards that comply with the current RMWeb 'standards' as defined on this site.  I've seen 4' x 2' boards for sale and 3' x 1', but I am not aware of having seen any kit baseboards that are 18" wide.  Can anyone point me in the right direction of a manufacturer?

I know that I could build my own, but that's what's slowing me down with building my attic layout.

I think Tim Horn was working on something but nothing on the site yet.

I usually go to B&Q (other wood cutting places are available) with a list and a smile :)  One of the many skills I seriously lack is woodwork - so most of my boards are a bit of a bodge but they do the job.  It's the 18" ends and track spacing/positioning that's critical at the ends but remember you can build whatever you like inbetween those points across as many boards as you wish.

I'm pretty sure that if I can build reasonable boards that are rigid enough to suit modular, anyone can.  Give it a try ... you may just surprise yourself.  A 4ft x 18" board with a couple of pairs of legs is very different to a larger and heavier permanent loft layout...

Hi, yes I've done a 4ft by 18ins one last year, just haven't had time to get around to releasing yet but it's good to go!

I've also got a 3ft by 18ins and a curved section which I should be able to test tomorrow, just finishing off drawing the curved board tonight.

Will add to my website when I've got a few in stock.

Cheers,

Tim

What size it the curved section: track radius and angle?  (for example 5' radius and a 45 degree change of direction)

I left that down to Tim to build to the RMweb standard.

I know it has already been said but I want to reiterate the point -

The board size is irrelevant, just as is what you put on it (other than OO track obviously).

There are only standards for the end plate and even those are pretty open to interpretation.

One of the last things I want to see is some commercial take over (along the lines of the Fre(e)mo mob.

A local timber merchant (or even B&Q) will cut a rectangular boards (end plates) for you (and will be much cheaper) than any flat-pack instant solution.

Agree with that Kenton - I've harassed my local B&Q enough that as soon as they see me enter the store the cutting machine mysteriously breaks down and there are no staff available to operate it.

Curved boards, however, are another matter - I got Tim to cut me some 'segment' boards for a circle and I'm definitely going to order a couple more curved board tops but will definitely get the rest of the bits cut at B&Q (if I can find a disguise).
