jonhall
No, not that one, the old Jidenco/Falcon Brass one. I bought this from an estate sale for not very much knowing that the Kernow one was coming out and knowing the reputation of Jidenco kits (it was a good price), its been looking at me from the shelf for a few months, and I felt it really was about time I did something with it. Two hours later I have this I'd like to get to the point where all the soldering on the driving coach is done before I go to Copenhagen, which leaves today and tomorrow evening - not long really, but there isn't all that much left to do - handrails and the like. I still need to decide how to treat the solebar - its provided as flat, but needs to be ' [ ' I can't decide if I should try and solder a little angle section onto the bottom edge, replace with [ section, or use a plastic [ overlay. mikeandnel
Jon Looks fine so far. I made up a pair of these some 20 yeare ago and was happy with the end result I have done mine in LSWR Livery. Regarding the solebar, I bent mine using a pair of right angle bending bars and a tack hammer which worked fine. The lining was a bit tricky from what I remember Best of luck Michael dJS
devonseasider
Jon - did you get any further with this? I'm just starting exactly the same project (although my "kit" has been hiding in a drawer for much longer than a few months!) & it would be nice to have a preview of what I'm up against . . . .
