A Futurized 'Gronk'

Recommended Posts

Hello to all. (not sure if this is in the right place)

Now some might think and have wondered of what I mean about this idea, especially since having the word 'Futurized' in the title. Well to answer that, is basically my interpretation of 'futurizing a 'Gronk' of 200 years into future from, as a 'what if', and something of which, recently, I have been interested in doing this as a project of mine, and have been influenced by some video games and movies (if there is also any gamers on here too). A Bachmann Class 08 D3052 has been used as the basis of this project, and to modify and detail the loco by adding metal effect card parts, and any other suitable parts too, to presnt a loco in this condition of time period chosen, as well as to rust the loco accordingly in the condition of 200 + years old.

Comments and critiscm are welcomed, and any advice too.

Can I suggest that you just paint it a different colour...?  In the last, what, 40, 50, 60 years, how much have they changed?  I'm sure there are 08 experts who can say this and that was added, but overall, they still look pretty much the same now as when they were new.  So assuming they are still around, they'll probably look just the same apart from the livery!

To clear things up, my intention is to keep the 'Gronk' in the original colour scheme as shown, but to make it look rusted, damaged, modified engine exhaust, parts replaced through out the years, yet look verstatile and in a way, a unique looking 'Gronk' that has survived a very long time through out. Basically something that look fictious yet in a belivable condition.

Thanks again for your reply, and value it very much so.

I should imagine it would have a massive exhaust scrubber mechanism if it still retained a diesel engine. It would probably have a completely different power source, gas turbine, nuclear or who knows what? Sides and roof could be covered by photo-electric panels or perhaps it could be converted to battery electric as LT are doing with their diesel locos.
