Graham Walters
To be more exact, concrete blocks. I'm going to have to model some boundary walls on my layout, around factories and Farms, I'm just wondering if anyone knows when concrete blocks were available in abundance to make them common. My era is pre WW2 GWR shirt button sort of the mid to late thirties.

RMweb Premium JZ Posted March 24, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 24, 2015 After WW2 breeze blocks were used a lot for council housing, outer walls, suitably rendered to stop water penetration. The first house I bought was an ex local authority house of this construction. My Nan was moved to a council house after the war and it was also of this construction.
