RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted April 6, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 6, 2015 http://www.halfords.com/motoring-travel/cleaning-body-repair/car-spray-paints/halfords-plastic-primer-grey-spray-300ml I would recommend this product instead as etch primer is used on metals in the main. Rumblestripe
Difficult to be absolutely specific, but I would think so. Obviously it will not "etch" as this is chemically impossible and therefore won't bind/grip as well as to metal. As in all things it is best to test on a bit of sprue or on an unobtrusive area before liberal application!
Blackstoat
Thanks for the replies. I have some liquid filler that's intended for plastic kits. It's such a joy to use, clean up, and file down that I'd like to use it on my nickel silver kit if I could. I know I could fill with solder but this really is a joy to use. My only concern is that the acid in the primer might melt it. guess I'll have to give it a test on some sprue as suggested. Thanks again Andy
