russianlayout
I am looking to see if anyone wanted to join me and assisting in helping with the two exhibition layouts, one Russian which has gone from a diorama last year, to a working layout for this season and the other is Loco Graveyard, Both DC and both fully automated which will be at Sevenoaks on the 12th July. I usually share these duties with my wife but she is running the catering at this show, so just need a second person. Main reason is although both automated, being DC - they may need some TLC sometimes, as do all exhibition layouts, one is single track and the other 3 lines. Also alongside these two I am demonstrating a mock exhibition layout which shows all the stages from baseboard building, wiring and connecting boards etc, which is something I learnt by spending ages asking exhibitors. So I will be overseeing the two layouts but may be busy pulling apart and connecting the test exhibition layout while demonstrating it. The person I seek, I admit won't be spending the time controlling the trains, (lots of diodes do that) but more answering questions on the two layouts and engaging with the public or even demonstrating the mock exhibition layout. I know often I can rope another member of a layout team in to help, but that takes them away from their layout, so maybe anyone who is thinking about getting into exhibitions with their layout or building one, this could be a nice introduction on spending time talking and demonstrating model railways with the public.
