Not really Feoffee they are quite different. Windows, lengths etc are all different. However Staniers were quite widespread so if you are looking for a good general crimson and cream or maroon 50/60s era coach they could still fit the bill. They were seen on Scottish, Eastern, Western and Southern regions as well as normal LMS Region .

Hope this helps .

Or if you really need some Mk1's (e.g. because you want to model a later date than 1967), sell/swap the Dapol kits and buy/swap some Mk1s. Apart from some of the more recent superdetailed models, you should be able to pick up some Mk1s at a reasonable price

I'm afraid a Stannier underframe is never going to look like a Mk1 underframe. Totally different trussing arrangements. Unless you wanted to scratch build the underframe from brass angle having ground/cut away the other. Lot of work.

I've got some old Hornby MK 1s you are welcome to (and I mean 70s style) for cost of postage. I was going to dump them as they are in the way  in the loft,

PM me if you would be interested. You could always set fire to them if they are not what you want!!! :sarcastichand:

The bodywork on the old Triang (later Hornby) Mk1 was pretty good. Just a pity that they did not do an all 2nd class (open and/or corridor).

Wheels not so good but if you are giving them away, OP can afford some replacement wheels.

Hi

That's good to know and I always replace plastic wheels with metal ones.

Thanks
