dasatcopthorne
Haven't seen anything on here about this show so thought I would mention it. Usually a good show and worth attending. We will be there with Villefranche-la-Chapelle. This is owned by Graham Broad, a member of the Carshalton & Sutton MRC Since this photo was taken, overhead wires have appeared. More pictures can be found at www.csmrc.co.uk Cheers Dave

cromptonnut
Well we went along and the show was of its usual good standard, for me there wasn't one "outstanding layout" overall although the 20ft x 10ft narrow gauge epic "Bron Hebog" was certainly impressive, and the triangular junction of Newchapel Junction was also fascinating to watch. I'd seen Portchullin several times before and that's always good to see, and good to chat with the guys at Realistic Modelling Services about some scenic ideas I wasn't sure how I was going to tackle. The Squires stand relieved me of about £25 and I picked up a "Moriarty" figure from Supercast with a view of turning him into a William Hartnell to accompany my Skaledale Tardis. The only negative for me was my politeness let me down. I noticed something on a trader's stand that was a good price, hard to find and something I wanted. But they were cash only. So I stepped aside to ask my wife how much money she had and between us we had enough to get it, so I turned round to go and grab it ... only to see someone who had pushed past me whilst I was counting cash pick up and purchase said item. Harumph.
warbonnetuk
We had a great today operating the Seaboard Southern HO modules with a good few punter interested in the modular concept and US modelling. Of the other layouts we had the luck to be situated directly opposite Bron Hebog which was fantastic. Looking forward to more of the same tomorrow Dan
ColinW
Went along yesterday, agree some very good layouts on display, interesting to see the extension being built for Clarendon, Harlyn Pier & Trezeath also worth watching. Luckily didn't spend too much money. Colin
cromptonnut
Nice to see an extra small hall although why it was totally devoted to the minority interest scale of 3mm was a mystery to me. It was the 50th anniversary of the 3mm society, hence the special feature of hall 3 being devoted to 3mm modelling.
RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted April 12, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 12, 2015 Managed to get to the show this morning for a lightning 90 minute visit. Overall, nice show, good value for money with very good standard of layouts. Bought some small bits and pieces from the Squires tools display and could probably have spent more if I had the time available. Personal highlight for me though and main reason for going was to finally see Portchullin which was very inspirational - nice to meet the owner Mark too and talk about the Kyle line. A few of my pics from Portchullin... Show bookmarked in my calendar for next year...
