Sorry to hear the bad news. I hope you recover the models. Keep an eye on EBay and inform the local model shops and Cash Converters.

I know the horse has bolted, but get security beefed up and get the workshop belled up. I bought a decent wireless alarm system for under £100 for my workshop.

those are the 3 really local ones i can think of off the top of my head, you could widen the search out of course

i'll keep an eye out in cash convertors/generators in crewe and stoke etc as i tend to have a nose in them quite often

Keep an eye on Ebay - that's where almost all of the models I had stolen a couple of years ago were identified and recovered when they were listed there a week or so after the breakin. Modifications that make them stand out are a good way to identify your stuff.

As with Jenny I had a load of models pinched when my exhibition layout was based at the club building. In my case, over £1000 worth of boxed loco's and a brand new class 105. Luckily I had weathered the loco's so they stood out like a sore thumb when listed on EBay. Thanks to rmweb, Andy Y, Essex Police and Staffs Police everything was recovered and returned to me intact.

Nothing to offer except condolences but I do recall seeing some heartwarming stories on RMWeb of stolen stock being unexpectedly recovered, so here's hoping...

So sorry to hear about your loss. Given that the items belonged to your Dad, it's the emotional loss as well as the physical loss.

Having only recently lost my Dad, I can understand your feelings completely. I just hope that the items are tracked down.

One crumb of comfort is that the thieves are normally thick as a brick, & will list them on e-bay.

We will all keep an eye out for screw link couples locos, but also keep an eye on local 'cash for stuff' shops, antique shops, & flea market stalls.

I sincerely hope that you are reunited with your kit & that the offenders are apprehended, vermin.

Cheers

Rob
