First Great Western current '57' colours

I need to repaint a Class 57 into current colours. As far as I can find out, no suitable blue paint or decals are available. That means a choice of one loco - 57602 Pendennis Castle in GWR green (which would at least fit with my 'collection' of GWR green diesels - well, 60081), Can anyone confirm if 57602 is STILL in the green and also where I might find some decent photographs of it as a painting guide?

57602 definitely isn't green anymore.

Pendennis Castle is 57604 - that's the green one remaining.

How about trying to obtain a Kernow/Bachmann 32-752Y 57605 Totnes Castle in FGW blue?

Cheers,

Mick

57602,603, and 605 are all in fgw blue, with 604 in GWR Brunswick green. But the one that is away will be coming back in the new colours for the new GWR franchise which isn't the same as 604s green.

Point to note 604's green isn't the same as the fgw green.

Regards

Paul

Many thanks everyone. Been a while since I've done any 'modern' stuff and I'm out of touch. I've bought Hornby sleepers as I need something to go with my Realtrack 143. That's the trouble with this hobby - you buy one thing and before you know it, you've got to buy something to go with it!

GWR Green 57604 ran with black ploughs when it was first painted, but as seen last summer, it had lost them, revealing the orange painted mounting brackets, giving a slightly unusual appearance to the front end.

Cheers,

Phil.

PS

No idea why the 2nd pic has turned on its side, its fine on my computer!!

How incredibly dreary - and not just the weather! I wonder who thought that was an improvement? Glad I bought the 'dynamic lines' version while I had the chance. Sadly, I don't think I'll find a loco to match.

I now have a Bachmann 57 in the green with a gold stripe First livery. My question now is, did any 57s last long enough in this livery to haul the 'dynamic lines' sleepers? Or do I need to repaint the loco?

I don't think it has got its full branding yet - the matte diagonal stripe has a larger version of the GWR logo in the IET artwork I've seen. I have to agree though, it does seem a very dull green - and the choice of silver for the door colour doesn't help. I wonder if a rapid change to yellow/gold or orange will happen, as with the old GNER livery evolution?

57605 is in a VERY different green though.

Apparently the stripe shows up better under low light conditions. I await photos.

Excuse my ignorance, but is the blue they used for the other 57s the same as on First's buses?

If it is of any help, I have been using a Bus Match (or is that Busmatch?) First 'Barbie' blue for both bus models and rail projects (a FGW class 150/2 with Electra Graphics vinyls to be applied shortly) and also for a SWT class 450 where the 'Barbie' blue is half a shade darker than the Electra vinyls.
