Mad_Hatter
Has many people had any luck with "best offers" when you are offered the chance,.as my first time was on a book which I got down from £3.95 down to £3.00, and now a etch brass 6 wheel coach kit which is currently out of production with a starting price BIN of £46.50 after the sellers had reduced it from £49.50 for £32.50. Dunno about "many" people, but I've had one or two good ones in the past. Other offers have been ignored, though.
MartinWales
Must say when I'm listing stuff on Ebay I always add a Best Offer price and always willing to negotiate, but have had some really silly offers!
Crosland
I always use the automatic rejection level to filter out the silly offers. I have also had luck by setting a higher BIN price with automatic acceptance of offers within, say, 10%. Some people just like to think they are getting a bargain Andrew
RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted May 28, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 28, 2015 I haven't used Best Offer when selling in the past. When buying I've had a few 'successes'. Strangely it's been when I've found the BIN price to be quite acceptable to me, and the seller has offered Best Offer as well. On the few I've won this way, I offered 10pct less than the BIN price and got accepted.
Kenton
No, no such luck - but then I'm usually looking for a bargain and very few sellers seem to think they are selling a bargain - some are just silly prices when considering original price paid or compared to new. Even finding snipe bidding a bit hopeless these days.
Guest
I sometimes list with "best offer" option, but like Crosland, set the filter to weed out the chancers (ie: £40 B.I.N.... £5 offer). Speaking of chancers (ahem), I spotted a B.I.N. item that had been up for 30 days and was about to end. I duly offered 40% which I knew was taking the p*ss but it got accepted, presumably because the seller couldn't be bothered to list it again.
RMweb Premium Kris Posted May 28, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 28, 2015 I've had a few accepted in the past. When I have done this I have always offered what I felt was reasonable, but what I was prepared to pay. On occasions that the offer has been rejected I have not been unhappy as it demonstrated that the seller wanted more than I was willing to pay.
