RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted November 20, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 20, 2010 Very pleased to say that the Ixion model of the South Australian 'Coffee Pot' steam railcar was formally launched in the UK at the NEC today with a display model available to view on the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association stand and one was also running all day on David Taylor's Bridport layout. The originals were 3ft 6in gauge and built by Kitsons in 1906 and one still survives in preservation on the Pichi Richi Railway http://www.prr.org.au/cms/gallery2/?g2_itemId=627 This is a bold venture for a small company previously best known for their N gauge models (in partnership with Dapol) I'm sure all 7mm NG and On30 modellers wish them every success and we look forward to seeing what comes next. At the show today one of our members kept showning Chris Klein (Ixion) the books of drawings we had for sale to try and get him to design us another ready to run model Full details here http://www.ixionmodels.com/welcome_page.htm and http://www.ixionmodels.com/news.htm Mike

RMweb Premium Mike Bellamy Posted November 20, 2010 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted November 20, 2010 Looked really good and the show price is very tempting. Just managed to resist inspite of Mike twisting my arm! Thanks John - you can't blame me for trying For those going to the show tomorrow, there will be a model on display with 7mmNGA but not for sale. The special show price was a one off for today only and Chris will not be at the show on Sunday. Contact him via the Ixion site for further information. The display model will then be the raffle prize for those attending our Members' Day at Mickleover, Derby on 22 January so come along and win yourself a model of this unusual and unique prototype Mike

Merv from a cold n sunny south wales coast !(bore cras)...crisp morning !!!! an then some ..... Yes, I am getting a supply of these shortly and yes I have made a very advantageous special price offer but it is specifically limited to current subscribers to my newsletter as one of the perks of being a subscriber. Even if you find the webpage and order if the e-mail address isn't on the subscription list your order won't be accepted. A general sales page with the normal, but still less than list, price will appear in the next couple of days and be accessible from the home page of our website. I will post a note on RM web when its ready
