I went last year and really enjoyed it. The chance to see both the live narrow gauge steam and the layouts certainly made it a different experience, and all at a reasonable cost. Couldn`t make this year but will keep an eye open for future events.
Funny though the exhibitors did not have their bags searched and I certainly bought sandwiches into the hall. I managed to get both breakfast and lunch for £7 ish { 2x Asda meal deal] when a Bacon Bap ; and not exactly a large one ] cost £6.00.
At least they have gone back to printed guides. I seem to remember that for a couple of years the guides for Warner`s shows went digital only. There was an out cry and common sense prevailed. I can`t think who thought that going digital was a good idea !!.
Ally Pally is now only a part drive hall. You have to park by the Organ or near the Rose Window end depending where you are. You can`t drive right into the hall.
They are both the same company, I think that one is a diecast and kit shop, and the other is their railway shop. I may be going to Utrecht
soon so if I get a chance I will check it out
And a number now have pulled out. I think that Hornby decided to go it alone AFTER consulting with other companies who initially showed support and cooperation.
