Another "banger" from Rocket! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Gauge-Hornby-Class-142-Pacer-Railcar-Provincial-Sector-1-Car/114348202336?_trkparms=aid%3D1110009%26algo%3DSPLICE.COMPLISTINGS%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818142652%26meid%3D86c3305746b84d9c839c40086ab8e46e%26pid%3D101196%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D143681167623%26itm%3D114348202336%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3Ddefault&_trksid=p2047675.c101196.m2219

It's not limited to mail order - I paid a bill in the bank last week and got a text by the time I got home wanting feedback for my "appointment".

Hatton 66 coupling issues.
Bill Radford replied to Woodend's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
Don't mention Dapol 68s!!! The problem seems to be made worse when the wagon/coach also has a self-centering coupling. I have no problem with Hornby Mk2f coaches but Bachmann intermodals are a big problem. After reading these thread I thought I'd do some experimenting. Roco couplings - didn't even make a 30" radius turn without derailing. Hunt couplings for Oxford Mk3 (I had some spare) - Perfect, -
As far as I remember the original Hornby HST set was Powered, Dummy and one Mk3 TS. Sorry - just seen other replies!

Hornby class 50 droop!
Bill Radford replied to E3001>D400's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
Common I'm afraid. 50 011 (large logo) has the same problem. My Class 67 Keith Heller had the coupling fall apart while parked up! -

Mid train power for Triang Pullman
Bill Radford replied to SteveyDee68's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
The Replica chassis is excellent - used one for a Hornby 110. There is one drawback - it intrudes into the interior to the extent that seats etc cannot be used. -
I'm sure I saw them in the Liverpool Tate...

Careful! You'll end up down the rabbit hole of Dave Gorman's Catphrase. -
TGFB received from Hattons this morning - before the email to say it was on its way!! Colour looks OK to me. Which way round should it be - buffet next to power car or other way round?

Class 25 photos
Bill Radford replied to Alcanman's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
( I think) - I never saw any diesels until closure between Friargate and Egginton - I lived not far from the line - within earshot - so never heard any. That said I did have to go to school... There was a weekend when the B6 Crewe DMU was diverted into Friargate - very early 60s. -
I'd like to nominate most of the stations on the Derby to Crewe line. The local isn't bad for a wooden platform but Uttoxeter has only been improved slightly by demolition. All the others do not exactly entice you to leave the train, which considering for the past number of years has been a pre-owned Class 153 with not many careful owners is something that is very welcome when you reach your destination!

Again memories but no photos - the only Hymek I ever saw was in Derby on test - probably with the forerunner of the RTC - in primer - D7028.

Hornby R4809 ex- airfix mk2E NEM pockets ?
Bill Radford replied to rob D2's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
It's not the NEM pocket it's the recepticle on the coach! The quality of the moulding is very poor and varies from coach to coach. Most of mine do not need much persuasion to drop out on their own. -
I hadn't noticed that - but then again us in the shires ain't used to these lectrickery things.

Radius - Circumference
Bill Radford replied to Crisis Rail's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I'm sure 4th radius is 24 inches. I use 4th radius in my fiddle yard, 4 turns of 90 degrees. I have had problems on one turn with some of my Bachmann 66s (not all). I have cured this problem by using flexible track and a tracksetta of the same radius - 24inches. -
Well it's Barry Potter's at Stafford on Sunday - I'll be the the one buying up all the Lima Class 60s at £30. Look out for them on Ebay next week, although I've never been on there except for the links in this thread1
