  1. I'm modelling Monument Lane shed c 1960. The Mechanical Coaling Plant was one of several that were made by for small sheds with restricetd space. I'm bullding the coaling plant from scratch using availble photographs and have agood idea of the size and shape but on my layout the plant is positied so that the wagon hoist is clearly visible and so is the mechanism that that hoists the wagons. I do not have any details of that mechanism. These plants are of a special two stage design where the design wagon coal load is discharged into a hopper which has an exit at ground level and the coal is then raised on a second hoist similar to a askh plant hoist befor being discharged via a vertival shute into the loca tender. I can probably fake something based on an ash plant but would like it to be as realistic as possible. Details or suggestions for of the type of bucket or conveyor used would be great. A good picture of a similar plant at Aston shed is attached. ( The Aston plant has the wagon hoist mechanism effectively covered by the high front downward curving roof - as most plants do - but the Monument Lane Plant does not. It has a lower front and an up-ward sloping roof with a narrow edge which keeps the rain off the mechanism but unfortunately clearly exposes it - hence my cry for help. )
