A friend of mi e built some brakevans for a Lancashire and Yorkshire based layout and the L&Y used to put the gaurds names on them. All the members of the team got their names one the various vans we also put the layout owners name on the mill chimney so the firm became known s Brearley's yarn spinners.

Some bits of old hacksaw blade sharpened to a point with a grind stone make great scrapers for excess solder. Iy you can do that make them in various shapes eg round, pointed and straight. I've got a set that a friend at work made for me each is about 3" long obviously with the teeth ground off as well and the top rounded to make a handle.

What scale is this in Mark. The LTHS has just inherited a 7mm scratchbuilt Middleton Bogie that Bernard Donald made many years ago. I'm going to try and get it running.
