Southerner
Not to be missed - the opening titles to Later With Jools Holland featuring a miniaturised version of the presenter catching a model tram, taking an impromptu ride on a model railway carriage roof across a Hornby suspension bridge and being chased driving a Minic Motorways Rolls Royce by a Minic Police Jaguar, all taking place on what may be the presenters own model railway layout. All done with tongue in cheek humour but at a frenetic pace, pause controls at the ready to spot the little touches and cameos, very well done and currently available on IPlayer! Mike at C&M
I can confirm that the layout is his own layout, and Jools is very proud of what he has achieved. If he is playing a concert in town, he will drop into the shop for a short while, and is a wonderful gentlemen to talk to.
Broadway Clive
The tramway section and associated buildings were all made by my friend John Howe who runs Kingsway Models. He did a fair bit of work for Jules when he was living at Grays. The Minic Motorway was supplied and constructed by a guy who sometimes displays that equipment at model railway shows in the London area. John use to amuse me with stories of how he had to convince Jules to move a piece of the motorway to make way for the tramway and some of his buildings, and next time he visited the Minic man had moved it back! Southerner
Thanks for the informative comments and insights, I must say it's good to see a model layout on National TV, presented in such a humourous but affectionate entertaining way.
