Early in WW2, the LT Circle/Metropolitan Line station at King's Cross was moved 200 yards west to it's current position, with the creation of a new island platform. The existing double track running tunnel was converted into the current booking hall concourse, a new tunnel was dug for the westbound platform, and the eastbound platform was built in an already existing spare double track width tunnel on the northside, as still seen today. Prior to WW2, part of this northside tunnel was already in
