So after much delaying and university work got in the way, my terrier project is finally done (mostly)! This started out as a standard Dapol model of 2635 (I had two identical ones) and ended up in SECR grey - I still need to fit the SECR plates on the cabsides and weather it a bit, but those things can wait until I've got the layout a bit more complete.

The full list of modifications goes like this: smokebox numberplate removed, smokebox support added, boiler valves improved and pipework added, cab glass replaced, driver added and coal load added. I've also stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the chassis so it actually works now. I haven't done the full Wainwright boiler modification as this is a bit beyond my abilities at the moment.

The paintwork seemed to go pretty well, considering this was my first attempt at repainting a loco and I don't have an airbrush or masking tape... and I used acrylic varnish over enamel paint 'cos I didn't read the instructions first - fortunately no calamities ensued.

751 will now provide the main motive power on my shunting plank layout, when it's eventually finished. Anyway, satisfying conclusion to the project! Next task, an R1, or maybe some wagons, or maybe getting my layout to a stage where I can actually run something... :)

Hi!

Nice job, looks like a terrier but it is different! And it has made me look at the two "identical" terriers I have and think Mmm!

Can not wait to see the Wainwright boiler modifications!

Cheers! :yahoo_mini:
