RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted December 20, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 20, 2017 I haven't seen a post of one of these on the forum yet, so thought I would share my attempt at building one and setting it into the layout. Just a very basic pic at the moment, but will add more later. Its the OO gauge variety, printed at 90% to help a little with forced perspective. However, this did make the pumps and accessories a little large, but not too bad. Its a nice, easy kit to put together and comes with plenty of detail. I added plastruct gutters/downpipes and interior LED lighting. For more detail, I used a Scalelink Garage Workshop kit (pumps, oil dispenser, car jack, vice etc), Scalelink 1930's petrol pumps, along with a Wills Workshop kit (lathe, pillar drill, bench), some Model Railway Scenery laser cut shelving plus brass etch tools from Severn Models. Also inside I cut an inspection pit and fitted an Oxford car (Austin 7 I believe). Outside is a motorcycle from the Airfix RAF Bomber Command Re-Supply kit, another Oxford Car and a scratchbuilt shed with an Oxford motorcycle and sidecar outfit. Let me know what you think! deltic9014
Looks great, though having built one or two Scalescenes kits myself I should know that it isn't difficult to make them into good models.

RMweb Gold tractionman Posted January 2, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 2, 2018 Very nice, really captures the period, one of these might suit the forecourt and the layout: http://www.hattons.co.uk/151342/Oxford_Diecast_76ASV004_Austin_Seven_RN_Van_LMS/StockDetail.aspx All the best, Keith

RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted January 4, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2018 Cleaned the garage up a little and added an old tractor in need of TLC plus a few more little details. Tractor came out of the Airfix RAF Bomber Re-Supply kit.
george stein
Often overlooked, but you captured it very well: the dirt & gunk kicked up along the bottom edges of buildings. Really notice on garage doors.

RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted April 17, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted April 17, 2018 As promised, here are some very intimate close up pictures, which will always show up horrors and mistakes. Biggest one is when I installed the building, I knocked it and the rear belt pulley shaft fell down and I cant reach in to fix it without removing the roof!!!
