In between the heavy rain showers I got a bit more of the fine scenic work done. Some of the siding ends have Midland buffer-stops thanks to Lanarkshire Models. I don't know if the LMS painted the planks red but mine have had a watery coat.     Some photos that I have seen show piles of ash around the ash pit and coaling stage. I first made heaps from air-drying clay, than painted them grey.      Then covered them with Carrs' firebox ash.
