Have moved into a new abode, well, for days off and short holidays until I retire from parish life, a new layout has had to be planned. It had to be LMS 1930s and as I hadn't the 25' of room length I had in the former home's loft, something more cramped was needed. The longest side is 210" approx. and the short 165" approx. In between the heavy rain showers I got a bit more of the fine scenic work done. Some of the siding ends have Midland buffer-stops thanks to Lanarkshire Models. I don't know if the LMS painted the planks red but mine have had a watery coat.
Some photos that I have seen show piles of ash around the ash pit and coaling stage. I first made heaps from air-drying clay, than painted them grey.
Then covered them with Carrs' firebox ash.
