I thought I'd try my little operation with the Peco bullhead points:     ... removing one sleeper from one point and two from the other.   This isn't quite so satisfactory with the large radius points as in order to get the same angle of divergence at the end of the unit, the track continues to curve through and after the crossing, whereas for the medium radius points, the curve finishes before the crossing and the rail is straight through and beyond the crossing.
