1960s British Railways in Black & White.

the steam footage looks like British transport film outakes, I recognise the locations from the films but have never seen the footage released. its not from the steam on 35mm series.

 

a lot of the diesel footage has been taken from the diesel and electric on35mm series and has been changed to black , probably to match.

 

however, its nicely put together with period radio London music.

 

plenty of steam and diesel. sit back from around 18 minutes

The soundtrack on the second clip - oh boy! Barry Alldis running down the chart starting at No. 1! Tony Blackburn opening Radio 1, which I heard at the time. A mercifully brief extract of Jimmy Young ... On balance, happy days.

Unlike virtually everything shown in the footage - he's the only one still going !
