  1. I think the question I’d ask with rails is , “ show me the photo of that loco looking like that “. There’s a fair percentage of imaginary weathering going on ….what people think weathering looks like rather than the reality . Should always be based on the real loco I feel
  2. They are start and taxiable or I believe to teach the airmen and women ground handling techniques
  3. You won’t find much flying in there . the runway is only about 1400m which precludes routine ops of all the heavy or pointy stuff . theyve got a load of jaguars there they run for technical training . I wonder if these were flown in somehow ? Like slam it down and brake like stink / drag chute etc
  4. I wouldn’t swap my pre new version blue box ones - ima cgually still happy with my 47035 from about 2005 ! That did take hacking around the bodies to change the obvious class 57 bits though , but my more recent one is also good. If I got anymore it’d be the new Bachmann , but have to be well below £200 and the blue ones seem to consistently stay above that
  5. Maybe if the NHS is funding them but you can’t impose that if they are paying their own way through training
  6. And unlike most blue diesels the yellow has square corners
  7. From Dave’s vid for those who haven’t seen it. he also pointed out there’s no backing to the exhaust so you can see straight in to the PCB. The TMC weathered version was better as it hid some of the mistakes !
  8. In which case it’ll be modelled inch perfect to look like a 47 ;)
  9. Seeing as I’m actually building a West Country plank just for this model and the accurascale HST, id better go ahead and order one really !
  10. That’s a great photo , but he may want to call that “ September 1998” , 1999 is a year in service and it was decidedly browny to the underside as they all became
  11. Problem is , they either need the best one and I may buy it over the Bachmann , or they need to be way cheaper than the Bachmann and they may turn my head . They are neither . If I was them I’d ditch the 00 and stick to 0 , as it seems they can get away with potato shaped locos there as they are “ the only game in town “
  12. I think the only thing is with stuff being delayed is the fact people budget for when they think it’s coming . Gone are the days of feeling slightly flush and wondering into a model shop with your £100 in your hot little hand and picking off the shelf
  13. I’ve used them a bit and they haven’t lost the personal touch which maybe disappears with the megastores a little
