  1. Oh, stop arguing. I'll just close the topic again.
  2. I have flagged the issue up to Simon and if he's able to give a response I'll come back to the topic but for now I'm going to lock it to stifle the distracting semantic debate.
  3. A lovely time with John yesterday; the layout is quite superb. It's evident from all of John's pictures that he's a remarkably tidy and exact modeller and everything looked 'just right'. Every aspect has room to breathe and there are some wonderful viewpoints as we know. Anyway, the pictures will do the talking in due course!
  4. He does have form for asking others to supply information he hasn't bothered to read/look at.
  5. I see it shows on their website and it was included in the press day but we were subsequently advised that it would not be in the 2019 range.
  6. Ask them if they've got any shift keys going spare.
  7. They are different versions; read the information given and previous posts please.
  8. It's about this time on any 'announcement day' that I lose the will to live with selfish, "I'm so clever", pointless posts and comments from people who can't be bothered to read information which has already been provided.

  9. As you have posted elsewhere: As you can see nothing was deleted so please go and tell people there you were wrong (you can't even quote yourself correctly); there again you're also wrong in saying that 'everything's been done before' - I get fed up of people talking garbage. Next time, just save your keystrokes eh?
  10. I think *some* users who were on-site during the https implementation may have problems with the site getting stuck in loops hence suggestions to clear cookies and caches. The Hornby pics were loaded long after the reversion to http so I think that's just usage levels on those topics bogging it down a bit. Still quicker than Hornby's own pages though.

    Dawn over Margate

I said it was a 'hint' not a specific reference; jeez!
  12. Heavy loads today due to the topics you're looking at. It'll settle down.
  13. Bachmann Europe Plc prepares for 2019 Catalogue Launch Following the relocation of our production facilities in China, we are pleased to report that the new facility is now operational, and progress is continuing apace on many forthcoming models – further updates on which will be provided at the launch of our 2019 catalogues on the 14th January. In preparing our new catalogues, we have identified a small number of models for which the current economic conditions do not favour further investment and therefore these items have regrettably been deferred from our range at this time. The items are: Graham Farish N scale DP1 Deltic Diesel Locomotive (372-921) NER Class E1/J72 Steam Locomotive (372-825/826/827/828) Bachmann Branchline OO scale LNER Class J39 Steam Locomotive (31-866/867) Prestwin Twin Silo Wagon (38-290/291/292) David Haarhaus, Managing Director, Bachmann Europe Plc said today “Whilst this announcement is not ideal, it is important that our resources are concentrated on those projects which are both desirable for our consumers and economically viable for our business. We shall continue to assess the market in the hope that these projects can become Bachmann models in the future – in particular the N scale J72, for which the cost of overcoming the particular challenges involved in producing such a diminutive locomotive in N scale are prohibitive. As with any Bachmann product, this model must not only be profitable for ourselves but also our factory, the network of Bachmann stockists both in the UK and abroad, and our international distributors too. Today’s announcement clears the way for our dedicated and experienced Research & Development Team to continue their work in bringing exciting new models to the market, many of which shall come to fruition this year.”

    Dawn over Margate

I thought I'd find a quieter spot in the showroom to interview Simon Kohler (the full interview including the rationale behind some items announced will be in Phil's BRM Express on Friday - sign up free here to ensure you get it - https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/account/create?seoChannel=brm&returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.world-of-railways.co.uk ), stick all of the hobby press in one room and something will go wrong!
  15. Clear your browser of any RMweb cookies and sign in again. It's nothing to do with the malware issue but could be a left-over from the https testing about 5 weeks ago. Things are slow today, yes, but that's due to the Hornby announcements.

    Dawn over Margate

The names of the two SRN4s should have given a hint in the right direction.
  17. Now in public domain. Any leaks prior to 190.00 came from guesses at urls on Hornby's own website. I had to remove several posts from here to maintain our part of the agreement.

    Dawn over Margate

No-one seemed to pick up on the rather large clue I'd left in this topic. I know several people discussed the item in the Speculation topic but it looks like I got away with it for nearly a month.
  19. Not announced at the press event but shown on Hornby's website is a re-tooled Terrier. More details to follow.
  20. All the new topics will be easy enough to find in the Hornby area come the time.
  21. If you would like a little more background to some of the content in the 2019 announcements I interviewed Simon Kohler for a piece in BRM Express - Phil's free newsletter which comes out on Friday. Sign up here https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/account/create?seoChannel=brm&returnUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.world-of-railways.co.uk to make sure you get this week's edition.
  22. You'll get a topic which has everything in it (with illustrations and even some photographs) from new toolings through to new liveries etc. plus topics for each of the new toolings. I've not read everything in the topic but I can see there are some guesses that are right; many that are wrong but there are some things coming up at 10.00 that I haven't seen any guesses for at all so there's definitely some surprises in there. One of the major surprises will be the advanced stages that some things are at, one or two of which will probably result in quite a bit of pre-ordering over the next few days due to the "I didn't know I wanted one of those but I don't want to miss out" factor. I will close this topic off before 10.00.
