    EBay madness

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133917286401?hash=item1f2e17a001:g:53sAAOSwFe5hepfu According to Rails of Sheffield this is in "Excellent Boxed Condition". Despite the fact it appears to be bent, the paintwork is in awful condition, and it doesn't actually run... I can only hope that the "Excellent" part is referring to the condition of the box itself, not the loco, as the box does appear to be in reasonable condition.
  2. That is quite simply fantastic...
  3. Well, knowing your remarkable progress rate David, we'll be seeing this essentially finished before September! Looks like an excellent plan, and I definitely can't wait to see more.
  4. Those look excellent Dave. I really can't wait to see what they look like in the flesh! Once again, thank you for listening to the feedback of modellers and improving your products to match. However, the first batch of names/numbers really doesn't interest me at all... What would interest me are the following: 34023 Blackmoor Vale (in Malachite Green as 21C123) 34028 Eddystone (rebuilt) 34053 Sir Keith Park (rebuilt) 34067 Tangmere 34070 Manston 34072 257 Squadron Produce any of them, and I will definitely be parting with some cash!
  5. To echo 34010-34005's comment, locos like Eddystone and 257 Squadron would be an instant buy in my books. Any of the Bulleids that run at Swanage or the Mid Hants fall slap bang into the "I don't care how much they cost, I want them" category!
  6. That looks brilliant! You really are putting us all to shame with your speed David! It's taken me three days to lay a handful of track... Ross

    Dapol Class 22

Different guy does the Facebook page, Joel I believe. Ross
  8. Glad I mentioned it then! I only remembered I was free for it when you mentioned in the first place! Fair enough on the backscene, I wasn't quite sure on your plans for it. Way I was thinking with the platform extension was kind of like how that Welsh layout next to us at the Wimborne show did things, with extra scenery behind the tunnel mouths to make it look like the line carried on, rather than just disappearing into a bizarre dimension comprised entirely of plywood! I'll definitely be using that kind of method for departure screens on my station. Will hopefully bump in to you at the Poole show, and I'll get you over to mine once track has been laid on Winterbourne Sellers, which should be very soon! Ross
  9. That looks absolutely brilliant, how did you end up making the departure screens? I shall hopefully be at the Poole show as well, new venue this year so should be interesting to see how they fit everything in! Just a quick thought, have you considered adding a short extension to the platform behind the backscene to help disguise the end? I know the photos are rather cruel close-ups, but it does look a bit odd seeing the platform end so abruptly. Ross

    Dapol HST

So you haven't bought ANY new models for at least the last two years then? Dapol Britannia goes for about £100, Dapol HST around £130, Farish B1, usually around £80-90, Farish A1 around £110, Farish's current Western has an RRP of £90! Need I go on? This is what prices in the UK are like now, and it's not going to get any better. And I don't really see why you are complaining, you don't have to pay the VAT we do as you don't live here, so if Dapol's Western did release for £95 (inclusive of VAT), you'd only be paying about £80... Which for a modern tooling, considerably better model than what is currently available is an absolute steal. Anyway, back on topic, the video of the full length FGW HST Rheneas posted, and the ridiculous number I saw yesterday has proved I really need some more coaches for mine. TGS is definite requirement, and maybe another TF. Does anyone know if Dapol have any plans to release individual TFs? Ross
  11. Bit slow? Understatement of the century... You've gone from nothing more than plans, to a fairly well advanced scenic layout in about 6 months! It's taken me that long just to finalise a plan and wire up some point motors! New building looks fantastic, the Costa and Sainsbury's fit very well. Ross

Just to point out Ragtag, that was posted on the last page as well! Ross
  14. Unless i'm very much mistaken, those are standard Graham Farish models. Ross
  15. I shall take you up on that offer at some point very soon David! I'm back at Uni on Monday so i'll only be a 15 minute odd walk away from your place during the week! And although that road sign hint wasn't aimed at me that will prove very useful!
