The GWR shed was typical GWR until rebuilt as above.

If it's the rebuilt LMS sheds you are looking at best thing would be to search for Steamtown Carnforth on Google. Loads of photos and information.
It's actually listed.

Thanks Jason that’s very helpful.

From the KDH Archive - this link is for the LMS shed at Chester - is that the one you're after?

The GWR shed was rebuilt in 1957 and looked like this by 1982 (my photo):
Thanks billy_anorak59 that’s very helpful. I think it’s the LMS shed I’m looking for.
Cheers,
Tim

Thanks both.
I am sorry I have found very little information in my books and on the internet to determine which actual sheds I’m looking for. I am more particularly interested in the I believe Chester shed building that was the inspiration for the Hornby Dublo model, and the building at Carnforth that was used for the Hornby Dublo shed photographs.
Thanks again,
Tim

Good afternoon.
Can any of you direct me to photographs of the exterior of the walls of the main steam shed buildings at these depots please?
Thanks,
Tim

Thanks Harold. I had soaked the block and it was softening around the edges so I was thinking about breaking it up in to small pieces to soak and mash as you suggest but I thought I’d ask my fellow modellers to see how they got on first. I’ll give it a go!

Good morning all, any tips to soften old hardened Das Pronto please? Thanks, Tim

Good morning, does anyone have any spare please? Cheers, Tim

Brilliant thanks pirouets, that’s the one!
That and other layouts you wonderful people have directed me to will provide a great amount of inspiration for us and in particular my brother Jamie and his son Toby to work together on for hopefully years to come.
All the best all and thanks again.

I think there was a blue class 47 on it. I saw it in at least one of the big magazines in I think the last 10 years. I think it was exhibited. Thanks again.
Kidmore Cutting is another nice layout, but not it. The lower level went under a bridge to the left and a tunnel to the right. The tracks looped behind the scenery and rows of shops then terraced houses rose on quite a hill above the lower and higher level tracks.
Thanks again.

Thanks Silly Moo, that’s a nice layout thanks. The one I was thinking of was all urban, small but tall anyone please?
-
Thanks, I haven’t seen it on YouTube although it might be on there. I saw it in at least one magazine, perhaps even a centrefold picture.
Does this jog anyone’s memory please?
Thanks.

Hello
My family are starting a minimum space layout for my nephew for Christmas to develop together. I remember a layout that was published several times that was two level with a twin oval below and viaduct over amongst a town centre on a hill.
Can anyone direct me to articles possibly videos please?
Thanks and best wishes

Have you got the latest version of the full manual, plus the Quick Start guide?
.
Hi Ron Ron Ron, sorry I haven’t looked here for a while. I do not know if I have the latest version of the full manual. I do not have the Quick Start guide.

Which version of the SmartControl do you have, as there are two.
1. The original one, 55040, that uses a Piko branded version of the ESU CabControl, or
2. The cheaper SmartControl Light, 55017, which appears to be based on Uhlenbrock components?
Hi GoingUnderground, sorry I haven’t looked here for a while. I have 1. 55040.

Top man thank you.

Hi
I bought this to base my layout on but however I try I struggle to understand it.
Has anyone got some easy instructions or can put together a short walk through guide for normals like me please?
Thanks again,
Tim
