  3. Just have it pulled over by the local Police Vehicle Examiner! Ian_B
  4. Never actually used it in anger. We always used Ratchet strops. Ian_B
  5. The RAF Driver training school at St Athen called it a 'Carters hitch' Ian_B
  6. Tiny make them diecast in several different liveries. you will have to take the moulded Machine gun off the commanders hatch though.
  7. Is there a map of the UK routes Built to Berne Gauge? The press pictures didn't look like Dollands moor, so I thought they were a little way away from the Chunnel. Ian_B
  8. The Telegraph reported a successful trial sending a MBT and a range of military vehicles to, then through the Chunnel and back using some 6 axle bogie wagons they had brought from Germany https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/18/army-tests-sending-tanks-channel-tunnel-case-eastern-europe/ These would not have the same 'go-anywhere' loading gauge as the Warriors on transport cradles on a Warwell, but on a restricted route...... I believe you can get the wagons from Roco. Ian_B
  9. not here either. Did you dispatch them en-masse, or in small consignments? Ian_B
  10. Will the couriers be contacting us with approximate delivery times? Ian_B
  11. Chris, you might want to check with Accurascale about the KUAs. You may find that they're only available directly and may not show at retailers.

PM is the better way of discussing things like this; it is more direct and confidential.

It is, but it wouldn't have got picked up by @McC

  12. Mmm Beautiful wagons. Weighty though. Going to need to try out how much traction I need on inclines. Ian_B
  13. Ninja parcelforce snuck the parcel into the safe place whilst I wasn't watching! Do I need more PFAs to act as barrier wagons for the long Journey north? Ian_B
  14. Gents, which of the new Accurascale PCA liveries is the current one? Heidelberg or 'Building a better environment'? Ian_B
  15. send him light engine to Plymouth so he can collect the KUA and escort coaches once they're loaded at the Dockyard. Ian B
  16. Attaching additional weight in the form of barrier waggons will not spread the weight, only increase it. On the other hand it will attach an additional 4 axles of braking force for the relatively steep grades that train is working. Ian_B
  17. Just a couple of Barrier wagons to improve the brake force.
  18. has anyone had sight of the Gaugemaster re-run of the Heljan 86? Have they fixed the problems with the underframe caused by bad injection molding resulting in plastic not flowing fully through the frame that supports the compressors leaving the whole framing horribly fragile and impossible to repair? Ian_B
  19. Fran, you should do a collection of you formation guides and routes. Ian_B
  20. That's correct. anything that is not heavily contaminated, plus other Radioactive sources that require disposal Wikipedia defines it as :- Low-level waste (LLW) is nuclear waste that does not fit into the categorical definitions for intermediate-level waste (ILW), high-level waste (HLW), spent nuclear fuel (SNF), transuranic waste (TRU), or certain byproduct materials known as 11e(2) wastes, such as uranium mill tailings. In essence, it is a definition by exclusion, and LLW is that category of radioactive wastes that do not fit into the other categories. If LLW is mixed with hazardous wastes, then it has a special status as mixed low-level waste (MLLW) and must satisfy treatment, storage, and disposal regulations both as LLW and as hazardous waste. While the bulk of LLW is not highly radioactive, the definition of LLW does not include references to its activity, and some LLW may be quite radioactive, as in the case of radioactive sources used in industry and medicine. The USNRC defines it as:- Low-level waste includes items that have become contaminated with radioactive material or have become radioactive through exposure to neutron radiation. This waste typically consists of contaminated protective shoe covers and clothing, wiping rags, mops, filters, reactor water treatment residues, equipments and tools, luminous dials, medical tubes, swabs, injection needles, syringes, and laboratory animal carcasses and tissues. The radioactivity can range from just above background levels found in nature to very highly radioactive in certain cases such as parts from inside the reactor vessel in a nuclear power plant. Low-level waste is typically stored on-site by licensees, either until it has decayed away and can be disposed of as ordinary trash, or until amounts are large enough for shipment to a low-level waste disposal site in containers approved by the Department of Transportation.
