  2. well thats the weekend over, newcastleton ran well without a hitch,i spent most of my time shunting (or playing) in the goods yard, the stock ran well also, except my scratchbuilt tudor minstrel which has developed a slight stutter and will need investigating. we had plenty variety on the layout this time, plenty v2's a3's b1's a couple of j36's and j35's k3's, my j88 even put in an appearance mind god only knows how a j88 could have got that far in the middle of nowhe...

i was the one wairin the daffy "dafty" duck t shirt this time. max i have always thought that itd be nice if we were invited to the hawick show one year, the only down side is access, the layout is very heavy. mind it is still fun to operate, i think that the hall at bonnybridge is good, the bacon rolls are a nice touch also :)

ive been told to stay off it as much as possible and unless its really necesary not to drive either and if i have to make it as short as possible, although i have to drive to the hospital each day as i live 35 miles from edinburgh and have no alternative, anyway i feel ok when im driving its just getting in and out thats a pain - literally. just have to wait and see how the treatment works.

there is still much to do to the layout yet, the point rodding and signal cables need doing for a start and the platforms need finishing, and the fiddleyards need work to allow for the track warping slightly during the show, more expansion gaps.

it should be a good weekend and i wont buy much - aii rite i hear - one downside is that my j36 that i made up will not be running as the Bachmann motor in this loco has died and i cannot find a replacement as yet.

  8. having had a look at my C16 conversion it turns out that i have set the boiler too low and as such the loc is closer in appearance to the yorkshire C15 so i have removed the cab roof vent and the smokebox door handrail and renumbered the loco.
