Right, something worth photographing from this morning.

 

I've got the backhead detailed using bits of wire and some MSE etched hand wheels. The firehole door guard has been modelled in the open position, just a bit of folded brass, I don't think I'll add a handle though.

 

 

I've also started with the handrails, the right hand one has the control for the steam reverser - the visible bit of this has also been added, there will be a link between the two levers.

 

Excellent work Paul, should be well run in by the time you get to Pickering!

Thanks for all the advice. I think the fiendish machine sounds poitively dangerous. I am one of those who bought a coil! As its to hand I'll have to straighten it the hard way! I will buy some straight rail though.
