Do we now have an answer to ... "How many men does it take to >>>>>>" ?

Alexa controlled switches/lightbulbs/etc are a solution chasing a problem, we need to get out of our seats more, if only for the exercise! 

But I will admit, I have an Alexa controlled switch thing that turns a table light on and off to help wake me up in the morning that replaced a mechanical timer that did the same task for a fraction of the price...

The networked device is less than reliable as it often loses contact with the wireless hub (and thus the light doesn't work), despite being in eyesight of it......

Alexa became less useful to me as I use my Echo Dot as a programmable radio alarm clock and the BBC withdrew the Tunein access in favour of their flakey and useless Sounds app. I now have to put up with Classic FM....

Technology?  Bah Humbug!!!

My tinfoil hat gives me the same uncomfortable feeling about Alexa as it does the internet of things, F*c*book, and Twatter.
