Do you have a local Hornby Service Centre you could perhaps borrow it from?

Interesting “Model World” last night because these and the Coronation Scot coaches featured.Simons very proud of them, and rightly so!If I was to win Euromillions tonight I would quite happily fund the rest of the train to be built.

As mentioned above, all of the more recent ones (including my three) are rib-less and look far better for it, especially when weathered. I don't think ribs really work in 4mm scale (since in reality they are weld-lines and not proud of the surface), and I prefer the rib-less approach that Bachmann took to their class 121 as opposed to Dapol who went for ribbed.
Ooh, actually, there's a thought: a 122 from Bachmann with the same chassis as the 121 would actually be very nice....
Unribbed for your pleasure….

Did anybody see that picture on Facebook the other day of one of these that had been smacked up the Arse and crumpled,in Scotland I think it was.

Many thanks to everyone who replied, that’s very kind of you.In my minds eye I can still hear the real thing blasting through Ganwick Tunnel at Hadley Wood,on the up express.I consider myself very lucky to have such memories.
I shall be buying more Deltics certainly, although I’ve previously stated my love for the as delivered scheme(this comes from a picture in the very first issue of Rail Express, from April 1981,showing two views of D9000,one from 1961 and the other after it was first repainted)I’d happily plump for Meld with the Finsbury Park white cabs as I clocked it one day before it was withdrawn, and it was always a favourite( no pun intended!)
-
Just so I’m clear, although I have D9008 fitted with sound,it still needs the Accurathrash speaker for its ultimate potential? Is that correct?
-
I have a fetish for “As delivered”-so you could make all 22 for me unnamed with no yellow panel and I would devour them all!D9008 has been a resounding success,I’m hoping to buy D9004 at some point as well. And will you offer the option of fitted crew on the following releases please?

I saw a great photo of a Deltic last night at York in October1979-
nothing unusual so far you may think, except this one was pulling in service Mark 3 stock!
-
I’d take a non functioning Deltic with highly detailed removable engines for a shed diorama, and driver figures hanging out of open windows or their arms dangling down the sides.

Run 2 suggestions? Ok then 🙂
D9016 in TTG with WIPACs (split run between TTG and Purple as others have suggested?)
55019 in Blue as currently running
55008 in Blue (not sure if the unique buffers are tooled though)
D9009 in Railtour Green
Oh and erm if you do want to enter the WHIF market or want inspiration for a shock loco on your Warley stand...
I made this quite a few years ago but i'm still not sure why I gave it black noses.
Cheers,
60800
I really like this!!I think it’s the black noses doing it.Any other angles available?

A decent pair of tweezers will let you hold it with enough force to position it and push it in, it took me about half an hour to do mine though!

D9004 in its original, factory fresh, two tone with no yellow warning panel, white cabs and red seats is singing to me….and it’s pay day tomorrow….already have D9008 on order like that…will there be more Deltics coming,D9001 St Paddy like that, perhaps?
-
A roaring, runaway success with their first loco. All at Accurascale must be absolutely delighted!!

So got my D9014 Duke of Wellington and am super impressed. Couple of minor items to address but thats the fun of modelling.
One thing that has stood out to me, is that it is actually 40 years since I had my first OO Gauge Deltic, a Lima D9003 Meld. How things have changed.
It might have taken 40 years to get to the ultimate Deltic but it really was worth the wait and all at Accurascale should be commended for taking their model to another level and leaving well established manufacturers well behind.
I know people have been talking model of the year but for me its the best OO Loco ever full stop.
This made me smile, for Meld was the very first locomotive for me as well,my Aunt bought it for me as a present,Christmas 1977,from Beatties at Southgate Circus,N14,the original Southgate Hobbyshop.
D9008 will be here in the morning and I can’t wait.

I think Accurascale missed a trick with a detail pack featuring headboards for the expresses, the Thistle headboard for the Flying Scotsman, etc.Perhaps they’ve got one planned.

Quite simple - get 'em!
I have D9008 in original,Vulcan fresh livery coming from Rails and will try and grab a set of Bachmann Mark 1 Pullmans and a 1928 brake K car from Hornby to create the Tees-Tyne Pullman.
-
I’m surprised there hasn’t been more mentioned of the early BR crew who are now showing for order. These figures look astonishingly good!I will be getting a set for my Bachmann DP1 as well.

Waiting patiently for Royal Scots Grey............🙂.
Looking at all these lovely Deltics, i wish i had ordered a couple more ☹️
Me too.St Paddy,Meld and Nimbus in particular. Those are the ones that stand out to me when I think of them thundering through Hadley Wood in those far off days of the late ‘70s.I’ll pick them up at some point.

Surely the 23rd Deltic is DP2?
I believe DP2 took the body and chassis intended for Ballymoss. It would be a easy cash grab for Accurascale, perhaps it’s too soon after the Heljan version for them, but perhaps a limited edition later on?
