Hi I scratchbuilt one in 1/148 not too hard a job with the slab sides and Railtec do the transfers in 2mm, 3mm, 4mm and 7mm scales. Cheers Paul

Hi You might want to put the sleepers in at the ends of the points before ballasting any more track as it might be quite difficult to get them in afterwards. Cheers Paul

Hi Yes they are from 0.3mm Plastruct rod MR-10P. I made a jig to set the V and the length of the legs with a further jig to cut the bottom part to length. The channel on the sides is fabricated from three pieces of 0.25mm x 0.50mm strip as there isn't anything commercially available that is small enough. Hi Correct they were from Etched Pixels originally for the Mill Lane Sidings BR Ferry Van. I can't see them being run again as the NGS now does a RTR BR Ferry Van and Etched Pixels is no more though items have been distributed to various other people (2mm SA for one). Cheers Paul

Hi It's made from various thicknesses of plasticard and microstrip. The W Irons, wheels, vacuum cylinder, buffer heads, axleboxes and springs are from the 2mm SA. The air cylinder and distributor are from the TPM 100T tanker detailing set. Cheers Paul

Hi Don’t bother. This advice is generally for OO points. I have sixty unmodified Peco code 55 N gauge points on my layout and have not had any issues in the last twenty years. Cheers Paul

Hi Anything that is mass produced will have bad examples but you can’t just right off a brand because of your bad experience. Testing every single device would push the cost up. I used to work in a factory were we hand built the items and each was rigorously tested, they cost more than the alternative brands. Even after all that we still had returns due to failures of components. Cheers Paul
