  1. And hopefully this shot is close to the threads full requirements, taken at the spring SVR gala in March 2010 Cheers Duncan
  2. I have posted this elsewhere but hope the mods don't mind me adding it here as I have applied some creative touches to the cropping to just keep the two children in the pic to the right, and although I've had this pic in my head since seeing something similar in 1985. it took 25 years to actually create it!

As someone who has seen quite a lot of time alongside the real thing whilst working on the NRM Deltic KOYLI I have to disagree about it being inaccurate and for the money it is a very good "copy" of the real thing. Are there compromises because it is a OO model, of course, but in my eyes and those on the support crew of the real A1, it really does capture the brooding power of this loco. If you want a better "copy", why not have a word with the loveless company, they will build you one in O gauge for around £2 grand!
  4. I'll have to disagree with the esteemed Mr Leigh, I think a ltd edition of 500 Br Black lined Truro's would sell really well. Modellers have always liked to have something a little different and associated with humour, and that stunt is still the best April fool I have seen I'm sure David Willcock, ex-Steam railway editor and a fan of any livery as long as its BR Black would buy one!
  5. They look fantastic, I feel a Barrow Hill-esque line up coming on!

Well I've been admiring the superb finish of this model as it runs round a temporary test track in the lounge, ghosts of Christmas past there! It's hard to find fault with this release, and perhaps unlike another recent quality Bachmann 4-4-0, excellent value. Mind you, I'm stunned I have this in my hands today as I only ordered this at 230pm yesterday and it turned up at 930 this morning, just paying the standard post! So step up Modelfair and take a bow, excellent service especially at this time of year. Cheers Duncan
  7. Just what I needed, a ??150 extra hole in my budget before Christmas Still as ever thanks to this forum I've got in early enough to avoid the glory hunters later and the Severn Valley Railway collection increases by one You have to be impressed with the secrecy that Bachmann and the NRM have kept for this; to have a fully finished model shipped from China and ready for dispatch without a whisper anywhere is an impressive achievement in this day and age. The model looks superb, lets hope this isn't the last 4-4-0 they will be tackling. I was told it would be dispatched on the 16th Decemebr so a pre-Christmas arrival is realistic.
