Hi Kev, I've not been on here for a while but decided to catch up with your thread and came to wonder if 37188 (Jimmy Shand) was around your era and if it would make an appearance? Regards, Mark
  2. Hi Eddie, The building looks great! I didn't know you had a blog, if you told me I obviously forgot. I've the plans for ardlui in Ian futers book which I plan on building for my island platform. Once the platforms built ill look agian at this building. I don't want it to over dominate the platform. All the models I've seen the building on have had 5 or 6 foot platforms. Mine will be around 4' from ramp to ramp. I may have to remove a section in the middle to make it aesthetically pleasing. Keep in touch, Mark You could see more of me this year because I've got the bike in the garage as I type and hope to be back out and about within the fortnight.
  3. I've used maskol around the edges of grills to good effect. Acts like a dam wall and stops any bleeding. Mark
  4. They do look good. Good luck with the assembly. Mark
  5. Thank you to both of you for a speedy reply and link. I will go and have a look. Regards, Mark
  6. As you are a huge yellow fan I wonder if you can help me with information? On my travels through the net I came across a yellow coach, I believe it was a crew coach but could be wrong (I frequently am, ) It carried the Eastfield terrier. Do you have any information & possible photo reference, would this be the only carriage to carry depot motifs? Thank you for any pointers or information you can provide. Mark
  7. Not checked the back to backs. It's buried at the moment but it was 4th radius curves. I do remember at the time of release the net was awash with complaints of it derailing and I noted a lot were replaced with second batches. As I say I've still to fully investigate the issue. Just wondered how you were getting on with yours. When I finally get to it I'll post my findings if it is a mechanical production fault. Regards, Mark
  8. I see you have a pondelino, have you had any problems derailing? I do, but have still to investigate why. It was noticed during its running in on an oval on the dinning table. I think it may have something to do with the tilting mechanism. I believe once tilted something may be fouling because once it returns on straights it jumps off the track on one bogie only. Nice start on the layout. Lots of potential fun. Painting the boards first is a good idea. It will help with planning out your scenics, seeing what will fit where and it helps to hide the wood when some scatters don't cover as you wish. Regards, Mark
  9. Big jim, I've never had that happen to me, yet. The other product I use is Model strip, about £5. Mark
  10. Remove your glazing and drop it in brake fluid if you have any kicking around. Mark
  11. I'm like your work as always Dave. I'm currently scouring the net for useful pictures of depot buildings as used at eastfield and the likes in order to build some low relief shed fronts for our small depot representation. Watching with great interest as always. Mark
  12. I've been popping in from time to time. It's not my scale but you had me at diesels. It's nice to see an O guage layout featuring them. Keep the updates coming because I'm looking forward to seeing this develop. All the best in the forthcoming year! Mark
  13. You know we're going to hold you to that now. Happy new year mate! All the very best for 2014, Mark
  14. You've come a long way with this. Looking forward to more updates in the new year. All the best for 2014, Mark
  15. All the very best to you and your family. Mark
