Hey Ian,
Had I known Ft Myers was yours at the St Neots show I would absorbed the wrath of the Mrs. and stayed a while longer on Saturday! The 2005 CM article is in my archives and I had a re-read last night. I really like long, skinny layouts. You can switch decent size cuts of cars and running at scale speeds it makes the layout even longer. The station is a fabulous price of scratch building. For all the railroads that built Spanish, Hacienda style stations I'm not aware of many commercial models (aside from Walthers) on a scale like this.
Are you still planning to split the layout Ian? Looking forward to seeing the progress.
Regards,
Bill

Hi Ian...
Looking forward to seeing Roundhouse for the first time at the St Neots show on Saturday. There was zero American representation there last year, but this year I think three US layouts will participate. Can't wait to see it...have a good show!

Ernie,
I can only speak for the Western Pacific...I'm pretty sure their FT A and B sets were never parted...much like an old married couple!
Maybe it's Stewart's "art" imitating life...they never intended for you the modeller to dabble like this! BTW..what's a Sergent coupler?
Good luck!

Hey Jack...
Did you see my post on MTI about modelling damaged units? This could be it! I see a small scene with a couple repairman and a blowtorch on an quiet siding...

Ummm....yes. Perlman Green that is.
Doctor G-F,
I'd like to do the same thing one day. I look forward to seeing the progress. Can I inquire about what the shed sits on? Have you elevated it or weather-proofed it in some way to prevent standing water from getting under there?
Also, could I ask what are the specifics of the electrical side of your project. What did you put in? Did you seek professional help, etc?
Thanks!
Bill
