We are progressing with the storage tanks for the oil terminal We have 8 of these tanks scratch built around a length of plastic waste pipe. This has been covered in plasicard to replicate the metal panels the real ones are made from. The tops use the lids from storage containers purchased from Wilco before they went out of business -

Hi Captain Kernow - We don't have a first exhibition planned as we still have loads of building to scratch build for the layout. We think unfortunately you will have to wait a few years until the layout is on the exhibition circuit -

Over the last couple of weeks we have made a start on the scratch building from MDF and plastic tube of the dual carriageway road that will dominate the one end of the layout - designed to take the eye away from the fact the railway is curving round to enter the fiddle yard -

Hi December 1994 edition

Arrowmouth still going strong after nearly 30 years of exhibitions at the Great Electric Train show in October
-
Hi you are quiet right Arrowmouth is one of our exhibition layouts at Redditch MRC and 2022 will mark 30 years on the exhibition circuit as well as 55 years of our Club. One of the trains we ran in the early days of the layout was a model of the XP64 rake. These were based around Lima mk1 coaches with scratch built sides. There is an article on how the coaches were built in an early edition of BRM

We have made some more progress on the layout. The large factory at the rear of the layout nearly has all of its roof on and some progress has been made with the oil terminal storage tanks. All the sidings now have buffer stops
