  1. My box arrived on Sunday, which was a bit of a surprise by the Royal Mail. Not had a proper inspection yet, but first impressions are that they look great. Cheers, Rich.
  2. You may be right Roy but it seems an awful design flaw if they are....in the meantime, I have asked the same question of Dapol. Cheers Rich
  3. Hi all, I just did a quick search of this thread to see if this has been mentioned before and can't seem to find an answer, but I just picked up two of the newer Class 73 (Southern and SWT 4D-006-012/4D-006-013) and both have an issue with the window blind lighting. Both locos appear to work fine on DC in one direction (high intensity white and white blind one end with red blind at the rear), by swapping directions gives the high intensity white plus a red window blind at the leading end and a white window blind at the rear. I have not yet had the body off to fiddle with the switches, but would not expect it to behave like this out of the box. I'm hoping it is an easy wire reversal fix, but it seems strange to have the same issue on two brand new locos...anyone else had similar?? Thanks Rich
  4. As a regular AC Models customer, I can also confirm they are still open and working hard to support our hobby, both by having a retail premises and also supporting mail order customers via Ebay and Amazon shops. The High Street shop is currently operating with revised opening hours (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-4pm) and customer numbers are restricted to allow social distancing, which usually means a member of staff has to act as "doorman" to ensure this is adhered to, which may result in phone calls being unanswered if staff are otherwise engaged. They have also been unable to agree terms with the landlord to extend the lease on their adjacent smaller shop after a hefty rent hike, so stocks of R/C models, some spares and wargaming items are currently unavailable as that premises is currently being refurbished ready to be returned to it's owner as per the terms of the lease. However, I believe there are future plans to expand to the first floor of number 9, but this will all take time, effort and lots of money, which is not always easy for a family run business in the middle of a pandemic. Judging by the number of parcels awaiting dispatch that I saw there on my last visit, NGM's statement that they are "Taking money but not shipping ?" does not appear to be the justified. As previously suggested, a phone call to the shop number during their opening hours is probably the best way to get in touch.
  5. Hi all, I discovered these a few days ago after seeing one of the new Bachmann DBSO's with DCC lights, but got a bit scared by the price. I'm currently fitting a digital one in a Bachmann NSE Mk2 Brake, complete with operating tail lamp. Had to chop off one LED to get it to fit and juggle the board to make sure the LED's don't foul the bulkheads. I used DCC concepts axle pick up springs on all 4 wheels and might fit an additional stay alive capacitor while I have it apart. What did surprise me was the fact that all the lighting effects that I had programmed on DCC (strobe and fluorescent start effects) also remained working when I tried the coach on DC. All in all, very impressed and not too bad a price for the functionality that you get. Rich
  6. Ref the cab light mods, I would also be grateful of a photo/info before I attempt butchery of my Large Logo example....thanks
  7. Chalk me up as a disappointed customer who ordered some Class 33 and 55 detailing kits and some Class 121 exhausts on 11 August and has had no delivery or response to calls or e-mails Paypal dispute now filed to reclaim the £28 that I have probably wasted. Not happy! Rich
  8. Hello Dave, Just to pick up on "Steve, Model Railway Imports", earlier message regarding retailers. I asked my local model shop (AC Models) if they intended to stock DJM in the future and they did send you an e-mail, shortly after the recent Class 59/71 anouncements. Can I just ensure that they are on your "To do" list, as I am always keen to support my local retailer, while they still exist on the high street. Contact is info@acmodelseastleigh.co.uk and I'm sure Annette would love to hear from you.....thanks and good luck with these new products.....Rich.
