  1. Hi,

Firstly apologies if this is in the wring sub-forum. I am trying to contact Dr Al, aka Alan Cumming, re a model which I bought from him a few months ago (not via RM web), but it was returned undelivered. Since it had no return address on, it was sent to the Royal Mail Returns Centre. He initiated a claim against them to either get the model back, and was advised if they couldn't find it he would get compensation to its full value. Since then he has not responded to my messages and emails either on RM web or elsewhere. I am just trying to get hold of him to arrange for a refund, as he has had my money, plus either the model back or money to its value from Royal Mail. Does anyone know his contact details?

    Thanks for your help.

    Harry

  2. My wish list would be for the following, all in N gauge:

•Binliner containers (now that Revolution will be making the appropriate flats for them)

•323 (they have carried several liveries and run around Greater Manchester, Crewe and the West Midlands)

    •325

    •175

    •304/305/308/504 (all externally very similar)

    I can dream!

  3. I have also rushed into expressing interest before reading it properly. I didn't realise the DCC option was sound either! On top of that, as it's a triple grey unbranded I really want, I selected the RfD, not realising the SNCF one would probably be easier to modify.

So it is possible to modify my 'order', or should I just submit another? I put myself down for an EWS and an RfD, both DC only. What I want is DCC sound EWS and SNCF (unless a triple grey unbranded is announced).

  4. Hi Ben,

    In answer to your questions:

    >If you hadn't seen it here, how else might you be most likely to get news of such a scheme? Club? Magazine? Other?<

To be honest I get most of my info from the main manufacturers websites, supplemented by occasional visits to this site and the websites of prominent shops like Hattons. I also get passed info from a couple of friends that are also enthusiasts and modellers. I used to buy magazines a lot, but don't as much now.

    >It stands to reason that at least one should be suitable for an early 8-car version. Out of interest, what would be the highest appropriate number for this?<

I believe 001-044 were delivered as 8-car sets originally, so there's plenty of scope there! For me personally, a lower numbered unit would be best, say one of the first dozen or so, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker if it was numbered higher.

    Cheers

    Harry

  5. I must have been in a cave for the past few months, because I only heard about this last night! I'm not a frequent forum user, and the thread wasn't over obvious. I'm delighted that I have an opportunity to own a 390, and I'll be putting my name down for 1 9-car with sound when the kickstart opens! Wish I could afford 2, but that's not financially viable for me.

I'm hoping somebody nominates one of the lower numbered units, as I'm modelling the period when they were first introduced.
